Wedding Day Emergency Kit! by Colleen Schmidt

There is so much going on during your wedding day. The struggle to have everything go according to plan while also focusing on the joy of your day is a struggle. I really believe it is important to let go of the reigns on your wedding day! It will allow you to live in the moment as best as you can. I highly recommend hiring a wedding coordinator. A wedding coordinator can help you through the whole process or just be there for you on the day of your wedding.

My hubs and I had a "Day Of" Wedding Coordinator for our wedding and we can NOT imagine not having them there. (There were two wedding fairies fluttering around helping guests and helping us!) It was great to know we had someone there to make sure everything went smoothly. **Thanks Lisa and April from Your Perfect Day!**

Here are Toledo area wedding coordinators I can recommend:

Your perfect day (We used them for our wedding and they were the BEST!)

- La Boutique Nostalgie

- Bee for the Day

Other local coordinators that I haven't personally worked with, but have heard great things about:

Elite Events

In addition to having an awesome wedding fairy (or especially if you decide you aren't going to do it) an "Emergency kit" is a must! One of my bridesmaids made me an emergency kit for my bridal shower gift and a few things seriously saved my life on my wedding day. I actually still use the container and have changed a few things out and placed it in our guest room in case guests forget something during their stay! Multi use, SCORE!

Travel size products work perfect. Just load them into a container or bag. My friend and bridesmaid picked a large mason jar and I thought it was so adorable! I just grabbed the jar and brought it with me while we were getting ready for the day.

I made a printable list you can download to make sure you don't miss anything! Click on the list on the right to get the downloadable link!

Ultimately, try to remember that the day is about LOVE and happiness! It's about sharing the rest of your life with your best friend!! I know the pull to have everything perfect is strong, but don't forget to take a step back to remember what it's all about. :) :)

Happy Planning!

Eryanne and Keegan-- Love at first sight by Colleen Schmidt

Eryanne and Keegan are the type of couple that just instantly make you feel comfortable around them. We started the shoot at the Oliver House downtown (one of my favorite places to shoot) and instantly Eryanne was giggling and we were all laughing in no time! I felt like I've known them for a long time and capturing their love was so easy! Keegan looks at Eryanne with such respect and love that it gives me goosebumps. Most of my favorite photos from this shoot are the shots of him just looking over at Eryanne with so much love while she gets a case of the giggles (seriously, adorable).

They also have the CUTEST story. Eryanne says she instantly knew. I'll let her tell you what happened next because it is seriously so romantic and spontaneous. These two are seriously two peas in a pod. They compliment one another so well. Watching them communicate with their secret looks exchanged, giggles and smiles of admiration was truly inspiring.

Eryanne and Keegan, I can not WAIT to document your day in the fall. It's going to be the best day full of love! :)

I asked them to answer a few questions so check those out below and then press play on "their song" while you view the photos. They are just the cutest!

How did you two meet?

My (Eryanne) sophomore year of college, I spent the spring semester abroad in Italy. However, the weekend before I left I came up to BG to see my friends one last time. I went to a party that Friday and as soon as I walked into my friend's house, I saw Keegan sitting on a couch and knew I needed to know him. As Keegan would tell it, I stalked him all night and forced my affection on him, but he was into it! We clicked immediately. We spent the rest of that weekend together, and I cried on Sunday when I headed back to Youngstown, knowing it would be months before we saw each other again. We texted 24/7 until I got on my plane to leave the following Wednesday. Keegan actually convinced his parents to let him upgrade to an iPhone so that we could talk through iMessage while I was away. Although we intended to just reconnect when I returned in May, we made it 'official' two weeks into my time abroad. Then, despite his protests and warnings from friends that I was out of my mind, I bought him a plane ticket and flew him to Italy for a week. It was the best week of my life, and confirmed what I already knew - that I was going to spend my life with this man.

What's your favorite date night spot?

That's easy - Reverend's in Bowling Green. Nothing beats a good burger and a craft beer!

What's a song that reminds you of eachother?

As cheesy as it is, our song is 'My Best Friend' by Tim McGraw. Hits ya right in the feels :)

Maggie and Justin- Happy in love! 8.22.2015 by Colleen Schmidt

I actually did not meet Maggie and Justin face to face until their wedding day. We had been emailing back and forth and I had been drooling over their epic hikes and adventures in Colorado (where they currently live) on Instagram. Usually I like to meet the couples I'm working with so that everyone is comfortable and I can get all my awkward out before the day (lol). However, I quickly realized that not meeting them beforehand was not a problem at all! I walked into the rehearsal the night before their big day and instantly felt welcomed. I was greeting by big smiles from Maggie and Justin and it all just clicked as if I had known them and their families forever!

I wanted to start something new in my blogs: I want to start saying what my favorite part of the wedding day was. For Maggie and Justin's day, my favorite moment was during the ceremony. It was a small moment, but meant so much. Maggie and Justin's mothers went up to light the unity candle--they held hands. The candle Justin's mom lit blew out and she had to go back up to relight it. She did not have to go back up there alone, Maggie's mom went right back up there with her--they continued to hold hands the whole time.  It was just such a sweet and simple gesture that truly proved something about Maggie, Justin and their families. The whole time during Maggie and Justin's wedding there was an overwhelming sense of unity. It was obvious that these two families were meant to become one big happy family with Maggie and Justin's undeniable love gluing them all together.

Maggie and Justin,
You two. Seriously. Are. The. Best. I am so so so so honored that you trusted me to be the one to document your day. Thank you so much for whole heatedly including me in the beautiful celebration of your love! I hope for nothing but the best for you two, but I know that with the support you have surrounding you and the intense, honest love you have for each other-- that will not be a problem at all!

Maggie and Justin's
First Dance Song:

Their day was just amazing! I asked these two what the most memorable part of their big day was:

Maggie's favorite memory is watching all of our grandparents have so much fun at the reception.
Justin's favorite memory is our first dance and trying not to step on Maggie's dress every 10 seconds.

I also asked if these two had any advice for other couples approaching their wedding day:

Our advice would be to take it all in, it goes by so freakin' fast. Make sure you have fun! Don't worry about little things
